THE EYES ARE THE WINDOWS TO THE SOUL. Life is short your lashed shouldn't be!

An eyelash is a hair that grows at the edge of the eyelids. They protect the eye from small things like dust. The average person has hundreds of eyelashes. You lose eyelashes every day. While it is hard to track exactly how many lashes we lose each day, it is generally estimated losing 1-4 eyelashes per day is considered normal.

Eyelash extensions are used to enhance the length, curliness, fullness, and thickness of natural eyelashes. The extensions may be made from a variety of materials including mink, synthetic, or human hair. The main method of applying the extensions on is by using an adhesive glue to individually sticking them to the eyelashes one-by-one. This is to prevent the eyelashes from sticking together. False eyelashes and eyelash extensions are NOT the same.

What exactly happens during an Eyelash Extension?

Before lash extensions are applied, Kristen will assess your lash line to make sure your skin is healthy and intact. She will proceed with cleansing, drying and preparing the eye area. Each lash is bonded with your own natural lash, one lash at a time! The amount of natural lashes differ from person to person, the estimated range of natural lashes are 100 -150, some clients may have 200 natural lashes per eye. This service takes about 2 hours from start to finish.

The Life Cycle of your Lashes

Generally, the natural lash life cycle is a 30 day growth cycle followed with a 60 day resting cycle. We lose 1-4 natural lashes a day as your natural lash grow, so will the extension, meaning that while you shed your natural lash you will also shed the extension.

How to upkeep your Eyelash Extensions?

To continue having beautiful full lashes, it is greatly recommended to have routine maintenance every two to three weeks. At week four the natural lash life cycle will almost be complete meaning that you would have lost a majority of lashes with the extension and welcomed new lashes. Refilling lashes at week four is basically starting anew and so it is considered a full set and not a fill. It is best to come in every two weeks and just fill in minor gaps due to new lash growth.
